Cortina MkIV facelift from 1982. Unfortunately it doesn’t bear close inspection as the tinworm is taking hold - sills rotting out from inside which never ends well. There’s a sticker in th e window pr oclaiming that it’s had Ziebart rust protection but that onl y goes so far.
Unusually it’s an automatic which is rare indeed.
Yes, that’s a Haynes manual sticking out of the back of the front seat.

Also known as the Ford Taunus in continental Europe. There’s actually a surprising amount of them coming up for sale in Norway, and I see them from time to time in Germany as well.

Yes, the T
aunus/Cortina story is a complicated one. At one time they were two completely different cars (the Taunus was fwd) but then Ford decided this was a luxury they didn’t need so the Mk3 Cortina was almost the same as the Taunus TC (the Taunus didn’t have the Coke bottle styling) so the Cortina was the RHD model and the Taunus the LHD model - except that it wasn’t! There were RHD T
aunuses and LHD Cortinas.

Ford of Germany produced both FWD and RWD cars that carried the Taunus name. A 26M hardtop is one of the best looking cars from the era, in my opinion. B oth the Cortina and the Taunus were sold in Norway as LHD up until the mid-70's facelift.
